About the Role

The Junior Network Engineer Intern will assist the IT and network engineering teams in maintaining, monitoring, and supporting the organization’s network systems. This role is ideal for someone pursuing a career in network engineering or cybersecurity who wants to learn in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices.

  • Help monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

  • Support the team in managing VPN connections, LAN/WAN environments, and wireless networks.

  • Document network configurations, procedures, and updates.

  • Participate in network assessments, audits, and security checks.

  • Provide general IT support to staff under the supervision of senior engineers.

  • Research and recommend improvements to optimize network performance.

Qualifications:


  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.

  • Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.

  • Familiarity with network tools such as Wireshark, Cisco Packet Tracer, or SolarWinds.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

  • Eagerness to learn and collaborate with a professional engineering team.

Certifications:


  • CompTIA Network+

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) – in progress or completed

  • CompTIA Security+
